What is a Cyborg?

What comprises a Cyborg? What are --her-- physical attributes? extensions? modifications? What are the motives that drive one towards a cyborgian existence? Donna Haraway's motives? Faith Wilding's? Ripley's? Aeon Flux's? What are the ramifications of this existence?

Related to this...are cyborgs a thing of "the" future? my past? your present? Do they walk among us? If so, who/where/what/why/how are they?

Are you a cyborg?

Begin to visualize yourself as a cyborg(s) through the creation of a series of collages. Your pieces may be entirely comprised of appropriated images, or a combination of original and appropriated images/materials. Additionally, you may use any method, hardware, or software combination you wish in deriving your entities. Technically, the pieces must be prepared for both print and web output.

MOST IMPORTANTLY...Keep in mind your perspective regarding "cyborgian existance"--as a result of your readings and film analysis--as you derive these representations.
